Cross country: Heidmörk in the sun :)

Saturday cross country skiing in Heidmörk. My first cross country in Iceland, finally! Weather was extremely beautiful, amaizng day for a trip and outdoor activities :))))) Darek was so nice to take me for a trip. I borrowed skies from Michal and here we go.. :)

Maybe I should go horse riding next time?

Go against the wind: Winter trip round Reykjanes :)

Reykjanes Peninsula near Reykjavík, very interesting area, popular among tourist planning their short stay in Iceland. I went there with Michal and Karolina on Saturday of February 21. The weather was very good in the first half of the day, sunny and cold, wind starting to blow with strong gales.
I  had seen dried fish alley before, that´s amazing view. Almost no smell because of the low temperature and the wind.

Sunday was extremely windy so I didn´t go out at all.  Martin came back from ice-climbing festival in the Westfjords on Sunday morning as there was very bad forecast. Hurricane coming from the south, some car windows smashed in the cars, crazy weather. Grey sky and howls of winter.. long Icelandic winter.

Dettifoss... Europe's most powerful waterfall  upon the Jökulsá á Fjöllum river. The mighty 54 metre-high Dettifoss falls I had seen for a third time in July 2014. A photography trip with four couchsurfers from Italy, Japan and Denmark.

Sunday trip to Hengill was my first off road adventure. And the evening light in Hveragerði was so picturesque this time :)

Whole weekend together. Snowmobile ride at Skálafell with search and rescue team track and cheerful visit at the sister´s cosy wooden house.
