Skiing adventure in Skálafell :)

Saturday morning. I had only 30 min. to get up and prepare myself for a skiing trip. Darek invited me to go with him and Polish-Icelandic family to Skálafell skiing resort as it was opened that day and wind wasn´t strong this time.

I went up the highest hill with the ski lift (it takes approx. 10 minutes) and was skiing down the slope alone as all the rest was using cross country skis. 2 red tracks, 1 black and 1 blue. Quiet a lot of choice. I was enjoying myself and  admiring stunning view of the lake and picturesque mountains. At the end of the second hour I got cold and shelter with one of the cosy restaurants,a wooden hut.

Before coming back to Reykjavik I went up to spaceship hut to see Tinni who was wrapping up mountaineering training that he was providing to new members of search and rescue team. It was very happy to see him in the mountains as he was there since Friday evening.

Maybe I will join search and rescue team one day.. I can think about it until September though :)
