Paragliding: freedom of a bird :)
Last Saturday it was Icelandic paragliding competition and as the weather was excelent during the long weekend and my friends where flying there. I was happy to go with them for a picnic next to Hafravatn lake in Mosfellsbaer, very close from Reykjavik, the satellite town. I saw some people camping in nature and the landscape reminded me of Mazurian region in Poland, a little bit :)
It was excellent sunny weather and very cheerful day. I went there with Izabela, Klaudia and Tomasz, who is Icelandic paragliding champion. On that day they were gliding in fancy costumes, for example men were wearing female dresses. Tomek disguised himself as a pregnant woman in Iza's dress. She is starting her 9th month of pregnancy now! :)
Later on we went to the small airport for a grill and closing-up of the competition. I saw a lot of small planes there and moto-glides, very funny ones. Tomasz won the second place! :)) The event was quite small and we were provided food and drinks for free, even surprisingly the sauerkraut. The day was really wonderful, full of positive energy!
I hope to try paragliding one day! I've always dreamt about flying when I was in the mountains. And this is very likely here :) Just look at the colourful wings, that's freedom of a bird :)
