Late August: hiking to Hvalvatn :)

Autumn is coming very early in Iceland. Children are back to school around 20th of August and also nights are back as well. I'd even seen first aurora after long summer days in the middle of August. Colours are becoming more beautiful and more stunning. Red, brown, orange and yellow is appearing on the lava fields, meadows and fields. In order not to miss its beauty you must get outside the city. I had my chance this year even  I was overwhelmed with the work and some other heart stories.

On Sunday, August 30th. I joined my new friends, German-Icelandic couple Mike and Arny, for a hiking trip. We went to Hvalvatn lake passing near Glymur waterfall. Really nice hike, great company and stunning views. Walking took us more then 6 hours, quite tiring though. Weather fine, no rain, some sun glittering in the sky. I hope my friends will be back to Iceland in 2015 and will manage to move here for good one day.

In a meanwhile, I am looking for new companions for hiking trips. I just don't want to stuck in the town, really need to feel a space and the fresh air. I am able to recharge my batteries when I am spending time in nature. It would be great to rent one of the summerhouses again.. :)
