First Day of Summer in Reykjavik, my April days.. :)

Wednesday, April 23, was such a beautiful day with emerald water and intense clear sunlight. I am more tanned then when I was in Poland in springtime - going to the warm pools outdoors gives very quick result :) And the hot pot in sumarhus as well! :) Gorgeous and awesome!

Sumardagurinn fyrsti. First Day of Summer in Reykjavik celebrated on April 24 this year, was quite warm, with mild temperature above 10 C. I went to the swimming pool at Vesturbaer, my new favourite outdoor pool in the neighbour central district of Reykjavik, about 20 minutes ride on the bike from my place in Austurbaer. It's a little bit like Saska Kępa in Warsaw, many famous artists live there peacefully without paparazzi problem, having a normal like any other people from Iceland. Here almost every artist has also second 'regular' job and nobody expect to be  treated like a Hollywood star, equality is everywhere  and although there are social differences the community feeling and social trust is so immense.

So it's probable that I can meet Björk one day at the pool or even in the women changing room. It's so natural here.. :)

Running. Icelanders are really sportive and fit. Quite a lot of them, kids and elderly, it's good to be in a form :) Sumardagurinn fyrsti was a day of 5 kilometres run and social event, a lot of people enjoying they run around the Tjörnin lake. It's so great to see that even kids and elderly people take part in the run. Stay active and keep fit! :)









'Walesa. Man of hope' movie was a very nice surprise. We held Polish Film Days on 24-25 April and I manage to see 2 of 3 films that were screened. I enjoyed very much the film about Wałęsa and 'Solidarity' time in Poland.. a lot of funny dialogues and very good punk music from the 80'. Excellent role of R. Więckiewicz playing the leader of the dockyard workers movement..

Day 1 of the festival appeared to be also a lesson about Polish history and.. punk rock music from 70' and 80'. Including one of my favourite Polish songs: 'Daj się ponieść fali ludzkich serc'.

 And the second film was so moving, based on authentic story of a boy that couldn't communicate with the world because of badly diagnosed type of handicap.. excellent and deep. 'Life Feels Good'. Big lesson about the most important things in human life..

April brought also one more surprise.. I was on the movie set doing extra for the first time and.. played in the commercial for one of the biggest companies in the world! Hope to see the effect of this work soon! It was great fun and ideal opportunity to meet interesting people from Iceland and all around the world. It was my 1st day at the film set in Iceland! Very interesting experience, nice people and atmosphere. Hope to repeat it soon!!!

After his adventure I am much closer to the film set of 'The Game of Thrones'! :))))))))))))
