March story: trip to Vík and abandoned geothermal pool :)

I am feeling so comfortable in my new wooden house that I have much more time end energy to write about my Icelandic experience here.

Indeed, there was also one more story from March 30, that I haven't told you about yet, my other trip to the south: Vík, abandoned geothermal pool and.. my favourite place, beach near Vík í Mýrdal.

This time we were 4, only Polish, wonderful persons and my close friends: Michał and Klaudia and also one more photography freak, Jacek, that I know only a little bit. We spent great Sunday together :)

The weather was so windy that when we got to Dyrhólaey, exceptionally beautiful black beach near Vík, I was seriously afraid that the wind would blow me away into the sea.. There were even quite dramatic moments (at least that's the way I felt about it :) every new gale of wind had unexpectable power, and it was becoming more and more powerful.. Fortunately, we come back safely to the shore from a walk to the majestic Rock Arc.

We were having a lot of fun, at Reynisdrangar beach where the immense column of rocks is coming out of the water, me and Klaudia managed to build our own pyramids of small oval pebbles, despite the wind that was smacking us with a grain of sands. The only possible manner to walk was to bow your neck and straggle against the wind.. Finally, we were safe from the wind in the car and went straight ahead to one (probably the only one) cosy coffee place in Vík..
And then we went off more to the mountainous interior straight to Seljavellir valley to the abandoned geothermal swimming pool. We all swam there although it was quite cold! What a nice experience!

And on our way back we stopped for a moment in Hveragerði near valley of the hot river, Reykjadalur. Going up the hill you can see huge greenhouses lighted with geothermal energy, most characteristic view of this place.

Thank you so much friends for such a nice trip and harmonious atmosphere! :)))
